To seek and serve the needs of our community by using the gifts and talents of volunteers to advance the Kingdom of God through service to their neighbors; to teach it is a greater blessing to give than to receive.
LIVE-IT bridges the gap between those in need and those that can help.
Through a network of churches, social service organizations, schools, home health agencies, concerned neighbors, etc., those who are living in dangerous, unhealthy and unsafe conditions are referred to LIVE-IT.
We evaluate the needs, determine cost of repairs and what skills are required to repair, rebuild or replace the areas of need. We vet each application, oversee each project from beginning to end and connect volunteers with a mission. We do this, while always remembering the most important element, to minister to all those forgotten, marginalized, and needing hope.
It is not necessarily a question of willingness. It is often a question of who, where and how? There is a need, now what? Many of the homes that these widows, orphans and others live in require extensive work, hours of time and skilled labor. While some may be willing to help, they do not necessarily have the skills or financial mean to take on all the project requirements. A single project could cost thousands of dollars, need skilled labor and require hundreds of volunteer hours. LIVE-IT brings the body together to do the work.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 1 Corinthians 12:17 NIV
